For the second year in a row the PTO has generously sponsered a traveling artist exhibit by Teacher's Discovery. This year's artist was Pablo Picasso. While the exhibit was up, students K-5th became immersed in his life and art. Students learned about Picasso's vast array of styles and periods along with his invention of cubism. Students then used their knowledge of his style to creating their own "Picasso's".
This webpage is an electronic portfolio of my work as an art educator. It includes my philosophy statement, student artwork examples, lesson ideas, recommendations and resume.
Winter Landscapes
In a study on landscape painting, creating space in our compositions and using only value in black and white, 5th graders created these beautiful snowy scenes.
Students had to put at least 4 trees in their composition using placement and size to create space. After then their could add other objects to their paintings, like snowmen, animals etc.
